For excellence in film and television David Winters has 25 Award nominations, and has been a winner 14 times. Some of the awards include the coveted Peabody Award, Christopher Award, three World Television Awards, The Paris Film Festival Award, and six Emmy nominations, to name but a few.

He is proud to now be making “The King’s Project” with The King of Thailand

His new film the $ 70 million “PLANET 51” is currently  in cinemas in the USA. SONY is the distributor. It stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jessica Biel, John Cleese, and Gary Oldman. It has grossed $40 milion to date.

He has produced and directed over 80 features and over 200 television shows and TV movies that include:

“DOCTOR JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE” starring Kirk Douglas
“RAQUEL” starring Raquel Welch
“THE LONDON BRIDGE SPECIAL” starring Tom Jones

“ROLLING ON THE RIVER” starring Kenny Rogers

David choreographed the famous Barbra Streisand film “A STAR IS BORN”

Mr Winters then teamed up with Diana Ross for 2 “DIANA ROSS” TV Specials. He staged and created “ DIANA ROSS WORLD TOUR” with a command performance for the President at New York City’s Metropolitan Opera House.

He produced and directed the film “THRASHIN”. He wanted to cast an unknown at the time, Johnny Depp, as the lead, but the investors told David that “This kid will never make it”. So he cast Josh Brolin in the part. Josh was nominated with Sean Penn for the Academy Award this year for his performance in “MILK” The Red Hot Chili Peppers appear in the film, in a live musical sequence. “THRASHIN” is the favorite cult film on DVD for skateboarders.

 
In the next 8 years David produced, directed and distributed 49 films.

David is the founder and shareholder of Handmade Films, an English film Production / Distribution Company listed on the U.K. Stock Exchange since 1999 as Equator Films. Currently Handmade has 6 films in Production for a total budget of over $ 200 million.

Handmade owns a Film library of over 100 films, that includes such stars as Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Denzel Washington, Madonna, Jodie Foster, Micheal Caine, Sean Penn, Michelle Pfeiffer, Pamela Anderson, David Carradine, etc..

David directed and produced “Welcome 2 Ibiza” a comedy adventure starring Gary Busey ( Gary was nominated for the Academy Award for best actor for “The Buddy Holly Story” ). He won the Best Picture audience award at the Bangkok Film Festival.

 
His latest production is an Epic Adventure film “THE KING MAKER” which he filmed in Thailand. All U.S.A. rights to “THE KING MAKER” were purchased by SONY STUDIOS and UNIVERSAL acquired many territories as well.

The film played in Thailand in cinemas for over one month, where it received 4 Thai Academy Award nominations and won The Star Entertainment Award.

"THE KING MAKER" won the Silver Ten Award as Outstanding Film in the FICTS International Film Festival in Mumbai, India.

As an actor, David is currently co-starring in the film “HANUMAN THE WHITE MONKEY WARRIOR” recently in cinemas.

He can also be seen on the Hallmark Hall of Fame TV mini series “Blackbeard” where he is featured as Silas Barber.
